I would like to request a utility that would re-number the standard "p" numbers assigned whenever NX creates a non-user named expression.

I have files that have been through a LOT of designer input with regards to sketches and I get p-numbers like "p8642" or "p10357". I would like to renumber these expressions to lower unused numbers.

I have seen others make this request of UGS, but to no avail.

If this is to vague, please leave me a message with your question, and I will do the best that I can to answer it.

Thanks!

Hello Chris ,

The utility , for renaming sketch expressions is ready !

In Download Section > Utilities > NX4 > Sketch
- rename_expressions_of_each_sketch

The utility cycles all the sketches in the work part and renames sketch expressions of the form p* where “*” is any numeric value.

The new name is : SKTCH_X_Y
X : Sketch Counter Y : Expression Counter

The user defined expressions are excluded in this process.

Great! That was quick!

Does this routine ONLY affect sketches, or does it apply to ALL non-user defined expressions?

If it doesn't, is it an easy fix to have it apply to ALL non-user defined "p" expressions?

I will try this routine out as soo as I can.

Again, thank you for the quickness!
